Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS FALL WKND?
FALL WKND is an overnight retreat put on by 2|42 Students for 5-12 graders over two weekends. The first weekend is October 25-26 and is just for 5-8 graders. The second weekend is November 8-9 and is just for high school students. FALL WKND is an experience designed to help students connect with each other and take next steps in their relationship with God.
WHAT ARE HOST HOMES?
With a growing student ministry, we have officially grown out of our Brighton building to house all of our students over night. This year we are partnering with parents and 2|42 families to host a small group for Friday night. This allows groups the chance spend a little more time together, get to know each other a little more, and have a more comfortable night. All host homes are screened by 2|42 staff and family members have been background checked. Small group leaders will stay in the homes. If you have specific questions about the host home your kid will be staying in, please contact your son or daughter’s small group leader.
WHERE IS IT?
FALL WKND takes place each year at the 2|42 Community Church Brighton campus.
7526 Grand River Road
Brighton, MI 48114
$68. Only $68? Yes, only $68. That’s a real sweet deal, considering it includes: all materials, meals, Saturday afternoon fun, venue and three incredible sessions. Prices increase as the event gets closer so register ASAP!
Who can come?
FALL WKND is for ALL students 5-12 grade regardless of affiliation with 2|42 STUDENTS. Everyone who is not currently in a small group will be placed in a group based on their gender and grade level. Students can request to be in a group with friends on their registration.
WHEN IS IT?
FALL WKND is split between two weekends. Both are unique and designed specifically for the age group involved.
5-8 Grade: October 25-26
9-12 Grade: November 8-9
What about transportation?
in order to get students to and from host homes, and in order to get students around during the free time on Saturday, small group leaders are coordinating drivers for the weekend. Drivers may include parents, other 2|42 leaders or friends/family of leaders or students. These drivers are all pre-screened and have background checks on file. No student will ever be alone in a vehicle with a driver.
what are small groups?
Small groups are exactly what they sound like. With hundreds of students attending, the best way to help everyone take a next step with God is to include everyone in a smaller group to talk about what they are experiencing. Groups are led by adult leaders who are a part of our 2|42 Students weekly programming. Groups are separated by gender and grade. These groups will also be roommates and bus mates for the weekend.
What if I can't make it by 7p?
That's totally ok. With football season, sports, extracurricular activities, and crazy schedules, we know that not everyone can make it by 7p or even by our first session at 7:30p. While we highly recommend you make every effort to be there on time, late registration will happen all the way until midnight. In order to help us, we just ask that you let us know when you will be arriving on your registration form.
