Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS FALL WKND?

FALL WKND is an overnight retreat put on by 2|42 Students for 6-12 graders over two weekends. The first weekend is just for high school students. The second weekend is just for 6-8 graders. FALL WKND is an experience designed to help students connect with each other and take next steps in their relationship with God.

WHERE IS IT?

FALL WKND takes place each year at the 2|42 Community Church Brighton campus.

7526 Grand River Road
Brighton, MI 48114

WHEN IS IT?

FALL WKND is split between two weekends. Both are unique and designed specifically for the age group involved.
High School: October 26-27
6-8 Grade: November 2-3

How much?

$59. Only $59? Yes, only $59. That’s a real sweet deal, considering it includes: all materials, meals, fun, venue and three incredible sessions.

WHAT TO PACK

Bible
Warm Clothing
Bedding (sleeping bag, pillow, tent, etc.)
SWAG money (items range from $5-$35)

Who can come?

FALL WKND is for ALL students 6-12 grade regardless of affiliation with 2|42 Students. Everyone who is not currently in a small group will be placed in a group based on their gender and grade level. Students can request to be in a group with friends on their registration.

what are small groups?

Small groups are exactly what they sound like. With hundreds of students attending, the best way to help everyone take a next step with God is to include everyone in a smaller group to talk about what they are experiencing. Groups are led by adult leaders who are a part of our 2|42 Students weekly programming. Groups are separated by gender and grade. These groups will also be roommates and bus mates for the weekend.

What if I can't make it by 7p?

That's totally ok. With football season, sports, extracurricular activities, and crazy schedules, we know that not everyone can make it by 7p or even by our first session at 7:30p. While we highly recommend you make every effort to be there on time, late registration will happen all the way until midnight. In order to help us, we just ask that you let us know when you will be arriving on your registration form.

What's a barn party?

Back this year by popular demand, the barn party is just what it sounds like. It's a Saturday afternoon party at a barn. Packed with all the fall activities we love, this year we are taking the barn party to a whole new level. So make sure you stuff a flannel shirt in your bag and have a jacket in case it gets chilly.

Next Steps

Following Jesus happens one step at a time. We like to think of these steps in a few categories: Celebrate, Connect and Contribute.

When it comes to taking next steps in the first three boxes, we're talking about your personal relationship with Jesus. This is always growing as we get to know God more.

When it comes to the next three boxes, we're talking about growing closer to Jesus by connecting with other people on a deeper level. It's always helpful to follow Jesus with a few friends and someone who can lead you through the journey.

The last three boxes have to do with contributing to the mission that Jesus started. What does it look like to use your time, money, and life to help other people that next steps with God?

What's your next step? Click the box to find more about each step:

Following Jesus happens best with others. Any friend group, school group, organization etc. that connects you with taking next steps with Jesus is a "next step group." Your Fall Wknd group may be a 'Next Step Group' for you.

Small groups are groups of people committed to helping each other take next steps with Jesus. They have a leader who loves Jesus and leads them to value honesty and acceptance. 2|42 Student small groups are separated by grade and gender.

Coaching groups are usually two or three people. A coach is someone who helps someone take specific next steps with Jesus. Someone getting coached chooses to trust that person to help guide their process of walking with Jesus.

Teams drive what we do at 2|42. From helping with safety to making hot chocolate for volunteers to holding a door with a smile, getting on a team is the best way to start to contribute to God's mission through the church.

GO+BE reminds us that church doesn't start or end with a weekend service or big event. Jesus calls us to use our time, talents, and gifts to bring others to him always. That's why we encourage people to GO+BE the church where they live, (go to school),  and play.
